Fun with Crooks: Part 4

When last we saw Scott, I was offering to use his money to buy a cheap plane ticket for his daughter.

Hello Mark,
Thanks for the mail and the heart of willing to help. She can only allowed to BOARD if she buy the ticket in London.Booking ticket from there will not be allowed in UK.All you need to do for me,send the 700 to 1000 dollars to the travelling agent and the ticket will be booked immediately.Send the money via western union money transfer. This the information of the agent below.
SURNAME.................KESSINGTON
OTHER NAME............OSAS
ADDRESS:.................50 ARUNDEL CLOSE, STRATFORD LONDON. E15 1UH,UK

Well, at least he seems to accept he's not getting as much out of me as he'd hoped. However, since he's still talking about a range, I get the impression he thinks we have to perform all our transactions in American funds. Bizarre. Fortunately for Scott, I know a bit about flying.

No no, I have a good friend who works for the airline. He assures me that all I have to do is pay for the ticket here, then email Jocinda what is known as the "ticketless flight" information. There are kiosks at Heathrow that perform the same function as the ones I'm familiar with here, which will allow her to punch in the information I send her, and it will print a ticket out. It's a wonderfully convenient adaptation for the airports. One less line to wait in, you see.

I think your travel agent is just tacking on his own fees. And quite frankly, they're a little high. Wouldn't the money be better used for Jocinda's education?

Well, it would.

Mark,

Thanks for the mail and your concern. Can you please follow my instruction,i live here in uk and i know the rules and regulation more.If you have you use part of the money for her rent to do some stuff,no problem.Kindly get the amount you have at hand to the travelling agent,i will balance them when i m through in oversea.ok
Get back to me when you get the money wired to the travelling agent via western union. Thanks & God bless your family.

Scott

I wonder what the weather's like in uk. I live here in uk. My money is the ew. The name of my language resembles a bathroom noise. Hey, did anyone else notice that Scott is suddenly oversea again? I guess he must travel a lot. So he'd know all about planes and regulations. Except...

Scott:

Your obvious technophobia does not help your daughter in the least. I have had friends and family travel through Heathrow. They tell me the ticketless flight information works just the same over there as it does over here.

Allow me to explain. Many airlines are not limited to one country. They are global. There are Air Canada terminals at Heathrow, and some British airways terminals at the Edmonton International Airport. If an airline receives payment, they do not care if the money comes from Canada, London, or the bloody space station. They have very large accounts, which are accessible all over the world. The "rules and regulagion" are not that different in London. Britain is on par with Canada in terms of technology, not behind. It wouldn't make much sense, because - let me make this perfectly clear:

CANADA IS PART OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE. WE ARE A MEMBER OF THE BRITISH COMMONWEALTH. WE ARE SUBJECTS OF THE BRITISH ROYAL FAMILY. QUEEN ELIZABETH IS ON ALL OUR MONEY.

So kindly stop being ignorant, and put your daughter's interests above your pride.
