Technicians are Standing by... Resolution

And I'm back.

Not that I went anywhere, but I'm back.

And now the news.

My laptop has been returned to me. I'm not using it yet, because it is not yet fixed. Despair not, ye who would be following this tale of sadness and woe, for there is a break in yonder cloud. It started earlier this week, when they called me to tell me that my computer was ready. Anyone want to guess how that went?

Two days later, I got a call from their lead tech, who told me that with the new information that I gave the guy at the desk, they had come to the conclusion that there was indeed a problem with my computer that warrented actual repair. This was, of course, information that I gave the first little wonder. You'll remember him, if you read my posts: "Computer will not recover from hibernation."

They are solving my problem by passing the buck. They have successfully convinced the manufacturer to reactivate my manufacturer's warranty. They gave me the numbers to call, and the numbers to show, and the numbers to quote, and when the manufacturer has received them all, they will replace my hard drive. I am happy about this. I don't care who fixes my computer, so long as it gets fixed.

So the end of that story is nigh, and I will no longer have to use Jason's computer to do all my stuff. Which is good, because mine is better. But Jason's is a quality system, very close in quality to the system that I'm trying to unload. And if Steve is interested, he'll have to call me soon, because I'm not going to wait on him. In one more week, it goes on ebay.

Jason tells me that Tom and Wayne have taken as long as they have because he wasn't happy with some of the animation images, and he's redone them. I hope to see them up soon. We've got voices recorded for several episodes, we have only to fill in an extra or two. No, that's not a casting call, we already have them, but thanks for the thought.

Also, I want to assure our readers that when we poke fun at people who disagree with us, it really is all in fun. So worry not.

And if anybody knows of a good tutorial walkthrough of the toolset of NeverWinterNights, I'd be ever so grateful for a link in the guestbook. Stupid cows.
